Hormel Foods today (23 September) revealed the retirement of a number of key personnel, including Gary Ray, president of its protein business, and Russell Potter, operations VP for the group’s grocery products division.

Ray and Potter will leave the company on 31 December.
Following Ray’s retirement, refrigerated foods VP Steven Binder and Jennie-O Turkey Store president Michael Tolbert will report directly to chairman, president and CEO Jeffrey Ettinger.
Michael Devine will succeed Potter as vice president of operations for the group’s grocery products units from 27 October.
Hormel also announced the retirement of Rodney Kekkonen, director of industrial engineering and Six Sigma; Dennis Boik, director of environmental sustainability; and Donald Nelson, director of manufacturing and technical services for Hormel Foods International Corporation.

James Snee will become vice president of affiliated business units for the refrigerated foods segment – including Farmer John, Burke, Dan’s Prize, Saag’s and Precept Foods – while Melanie Faust will succeed Snee as director of purchasing.
Additionally, the company announced the promotion of Michael Forbes to the post of director of manufacturing and technical services for Hormel Foods International Corporation.
