Food manufacturer CP Foods has launched a Crispy Aromatic Duck frozen meal to be sold in Morrisons outlets.

The meal kit will sell for GBP5 (US$7.87) from Morrisons outlets, and the company said there is “scope to branch into other retailers in 2011”.

It contains a half portion of duck, roasted in Chinese spices with traditional pancakes and hoisin sauce.

Rebecca Stevens, national account manager for CP, said today (25 October): “The popularity of duck has risen steadily in the past five years. Increased accessibility to the Far East and Asia for both business and leisure purposes, has led consumers to want to recreate their favourite dishes in the comfort of their own home. The rise of Asiatic recipes on television and the recognition of duck as a more widely used ingredient has also contributed to the trend.”
