European fresh produce company Total Produce has completed its acquisition of 60% of Dutch salad firms Haluco and Nedalpac.

Total Produce announced on 23 May that it had entered an agreement to acquire the shareholding in the companies for EUR23m (US$33.3m).
The European Commission then approved the acquisition on 11 August.
Total Produce is based in Ireland and is primarily active in the procurement, importation, marketing and distribution of a full range of fruit and vegetables in various EEA countries. It also has a pot plants distribution business in Ireland.
Haluco and Nedalpac, headquartered in Bleiswijk, Netherlands, recorded a combined profit before tax of EUR5.5m on turnover of EUR298m in the year ended 31 December 2007.
