Dutch retail giant Ahold has begun the revamp of its Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover stores in the US.
A new logo and new-look stores, to be launched tomorrow (22 August), are all part of the company’s “value improvement programme”, a wider overhaul underway at its stores in the US.
In addition to the new look and logo, the stores are rolling out a new prepared foods assortment, an expanded private-label offering, updated store signage and décor, new shopping technology and customer websites.
“Today’s announcement is a further stop in Ahold’s global strategy to create powerful local consumer brands,” said John Rishton, Ahold CEO.
“These new initiatives are an important part of the Value Improvement Programme underway at Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover.”
