According to the company, the Mars Planets pouch is the “ideal pack” for consumers to share.


Mars has decided to target this segment of the market with the launch because its research has found that 70% of chocolate consumption occurs in groups.
 
Mars also said that it is focusing on independent retailers through a sampling campaign and money-off vouchers.


Mars Planets pouches will be available nationwide from September, when a GBP6m (US$11.9m) marketing campaign promoting the brand will commence.
 
Commenting on the move, Bep Sandhu, trade relations manager for Mars, said: “The launch of Mars Planets pouch is expected to ensure further growth not only for Mars Planets but for the whole bite-size category.”
