UK farmer-owned dairy processor Milk Link has launched moo one%, a long-life milk containing 1% fat as an addition to its long-life milk brand ‘moo’.
“There are brands of fresh milk with only one percent fat but this is the first long-life version,” said Heather Coates, senior brand manager. “Since the launch of ‘moo’ in 2004 we have listened to feedback from our consumers and constantly updated the brand.”
The ‘moo’ brand was launched in 2004 as a response to “increasing trends for healthy eating”, the company said.
“This is the first 1% fat, long-life milk on the market today so competition is low,” a spokesperson for Milk Link said. “However, there are other fresh 1% fat milks on the market, so moo one% gives consumers the choice about whether to choose fresh or long-life milk.”
moo one% is available in Sainsbury’s, will shortly be available in Tesco and will be stocked in other major retailers over the coming months. The recommended retail price is GBP0.75 (US$1.50).
