US food giant ConAgra Foods has expanded its portfolio with the addition of nine products.
The firm has added six varieties to its Banquet frozen entrée stable, two flavours to its Van Camp’s baked beans product line and a new flavour for Manwich sauce.
“With the lingering effects of the recession, many shoppers are turning to canned and frozen products, which can offer both cost savings and convenience for those who are cooking and eating at home more,” said Phil Lempert, self-styled “Supermarket Guru” and a spokesperson for ConAgra.
The additional Banquet varieties include; Zesty Marinara Sauce over Meatballs, Cheesy Smothered Charbroiled Patties, Chicken Marinara, Cheesy Macaroni & Beef, Spaghetti & Popcorn Chicken, and Honey Mustard Chicken. The new range has an average retail price of US$1 and under per serving.
Manwich Thick & Chunky will join the Original and Bold varieties for $1.50 per 15oz can, and the Van Camp’s line now includes Sweet Onion and Maple and Brown Sugar flavoured baked beans for around $1.59 per can.
