German retail giant Rewe has extended the contract of its CEO Alain Caparros for a further five years.
The management board announced today (22 June), that Caparros’ contract will now run until 2016.

Heinz-Bert Zander, chairman of the Rewe group supervisory board, said Caparros had done an “outstanding job” as CEO.
“He has implemented the structure of Rewe consistently and efficiently, and brought our companies together with high competence, commitment and perseverance for success,” Zander said.
“Merchants, management and staff trust the leadership of our CEO who has set the course for the continued successful development of Rewe Group,” he added.
Caparros has been a member of the board of Rewe since April 2005. In September 2006, he was appointed as CEO.
