The company, which delivers Waitrose goods, is expected to announce its intention to float, after confirming earlier this year that it would seek a stock market listing in the summer. The announcement would mark the formal start of the listing process.

Earlier this month, Ocado said it would give some of its shoppers the chance to buy shares in the business.

The company has invited those who have spent over GBP300 (US$435) from the start of the year to buy shares.

Ocado could not be reached for immediate comment.
