German discount retailer Lidl has told just-food today (23 April) that, contrary to local reports, the retailer has no intention of exiting the Polish market.
Polish reports had suggested that the group was mulling the sale of its operations in the country, in a deal that would reportedly have netted the company EUR250m (US$398.7m).
However, Lidl has said that the reports are false.
“This information is not true. Poland is an important market and we have no plans to exit,” a spokesperson said.
