Russia’s largest food retailer X5 Retail Group has announced plans to roll-out 20 Pyaterochka soft discount stores in the country’s southern region.

The first two stores will open on 19 April in Krasnodar. Further stores are expected in the Rostov region at a later date.
“The launch of this project is an important step in execution of our strategy of multi-format regional expansion,” said Yuri Kobaladze, managing director of corporate relations X5 Retail Group. “Multi-format presence in a region allows us to widen our customer base and significantly enhances our operational efficiencies in the region. ”
X5 Retail already has eight Perekryostok supermarkets and one hypermarket in the south of Russia.
