US retailer Jewel-Osco is voluntarily recalling its selected cereal brands supplied by Malt-O-Meal, due to possible salmonella contamination.

The company, the Midwest division of Albertson’s, issued the notice on Jewel puffed rice and puffed wheat cereals.
The action comes only a day after US cereal make Malt-O-Meal announced a recall on brands under the company’s range, including Acme, Giant, Shaw’s, America’s Choice and Food Club.
The product, which was sold at Jewel-Osco stores in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa, include those with a product code 41280-05468-0 and 41280-05469-7.
Jewel-Osco is urging any customer with an affected product to return it to the store for a refund.
