French vegetable group Bonduelle today (6 May) booked a 2.5% fall in third-quarter turnover as revenues in Europe were dented by the company’s sales promotions.

Bonduelle’s sales for the three months to the end of March stood at EUR367.8m (US$468m). Sales in Europe fell 6.2% to EUR280.6m.

Outside Europe, sales jumped to EUR87.2m thanks in part to the strengthening of the Russian rouble and the Canadian dollar.

Bonduelle said it had kept promotions in Europe high due to “sluggish” consumption but added that its namesake and Cassegrain brands had gained market share on the continent and in France, respectively.
