A spokesperson for Schuitema said the retailer had agreed to sell 56 of its C1000 outlets to Ahold but she declined to comment on the financial details of the deal.
The sale is part of plans first announced in January, when Ahold said it was in talks to sell its 73% stake in Schuitema to private equity firm CVC.
The spokesperson said Schuitema and Ahold remain in talks over the sale of the stake but refused to be drawn on how long negotiations could last.
Ahold refused to be drawn on the exact number of stores it plans to buy from Schuitema in return for its 73% stake.
