US retail giant Safeway has apointed Frank Herringer and Kenneth Oder to the company’s board of directors.
Heringer, chairman and former CEO of Transamerica, and Oder, previously executive vice president of labour relations and human resources for Safeway, will bring the total number of board members to 11.
“We are fortunate to have individuals with these credentials joining the board,” said Steve Burd, Safeway chairman, president and CEO. “Frank has run a large financial services company and can bring that experience to our board. Ken’s prior experience with Safeway should also prove to be invaluable.”
Herringer currently serves on the board of Amgen and The Charles Schwab Corporation and Oder is managing member of Sugar Hollow LLC, an investment firm.
