Spanish food group Leche Pascual is planning to scale back its dairy plant in Montauban, in the south of France.
The company is in talks with workers and union officials at the site, which it bought in 1994.
Reports in France claims Leche Pascual is looking to close the production and packaging lines for UHT milk at the site, although the company insists it has yet to reach a decision on where the cuts will be made.
“We are trying to reduce our activities at the plant but there is nothing definitive yet,” a spokesman for Leche Pascual told just-food. “We are in the middle of negotiations. We would like to keep part of the activities at the plant.”
