Finnish retailer Kesko has posted buoyant underlying full-year earnings from its grocery business.

The company’s Kesko Food arm reported operating profit excluding one-off charges of EUR151.4m (US$222.1m) for 2007, a rise of 22.8%. Revenue from the business rose 7.1% to EUR3.9bn.
Kesko said its grocery sales are expected to grow this yea, although it gave no specific figures.
The company added that underlying operating profit from the business was expected to match 2007 levels.
