Swedish retailer Axfood has completed its acquisition of Stockholm chain PrisXtra.

Sweden’s competition authorities have cleared the deal, which was agreed last month.
Family-owned PrisXtra, which generates annual sales of around SEK700m (US$109.4m), will operate as a separate company and CEO Magnus Lundin will stay on to lead the business.
Axfood’s store portfolio includes over 220 stores under the Hemköp, Willys and Willys hemma banners. The company also has wholesale interests under the Dagab and Axfood Närlivs banners.
