The company said the move had been made to better reflect its strategy, which concentrates on the development of the Carrefour brand, innovation and customer focus.
The reorganisation includes the the appointment of Gilles Petit, managing director, France and Thierry Garnier, managing director, Europe to the management board.
The management board will now comprise seven members.
