US-based fine foods group Mitsui Foods International has snapped up San-Rallo Pasta Co. for an undisclosed sum.
Mitsui, which is based in New Jersey, said today (9 January) that the quality of the San-Rallo pasta portfolio had been its attraction.
“All you have to do is taste the exceptional products they make to know why we wanted San-Rallo to be part of the Mitsui Foods family,” said Dennis Newnham, Mitsui Foods International president and CEO.
San-Rallo founder Chris Sanzone insisted Mitsui had been the first suitor to match his company’s values.
“Over the years, we’ve been approached by many companies interested in acquiring us, but we’ve never been interested, until now,” Sanzone said. “In Mitsui, we’ve found a powerful partner who shares our values, our commitment to quality and customer service and our vision for San-Rallo’s future.”
