Japanese convenience retailer Lawson today (8 January) posted a 6.9% rise in third-quarter profits thanks to an identical rise in sales.

The company saw profits reach JPY37.9bn (US$346m) for the three months to the end of the November. Revenue rose to JPY228.1bn.


About 95% of Lawson’s over 8,500 stores are franchised. Japan’s largest convenience retailer, Seven & I Holdings Co., has 11,700 stores.
