Butler Capital bought France Champignon in 2004 and has overseen a business that has five facilities in France and one in Poland. The mushroom firm’s annual sales stood at EUR212m (US$304.1m) in 2008.
Bonduelle owns a range of canned and frozen vegetable businesses in Europe and Canada.
France Champignon employs around 1,500 people and produces 130,000 tonnes of mushrooms in all forms – canned, frozen, fresh, pasteurized and dried.
The acquisition remains subject to the approval of competition authorities in France and Germany, in which cases were filed in early January.
