The announcement was made yesterday in an end-of-year statement at the ANM board’s annual Christmas lunch.

ANM said its meat division will make a loss for the 2011 calendar year. The spokeserson said this was because ANM has seen a rise in the price of cattle increasing to GBP250 (US$386) per head.

This year, ANM brought together its three different meat processing companies into one business unit, ANM Meat Division. ANM moved to incorporate Scotch Premier Meat, Yorkshire Premier Meat and Charcuterie – three businesses that supply red meat products from primal cuts to processed meat for convenience food – into the new unit.
