French retail giant Carrefour has said that it has received two credit lines worth a total of €2.5bn (US$2.7bn) from a syndicate of five banks.

Carrefour said it would use the credit for normal cash-flow purposes, reported Reuters.
One credit line is worth €1.5bn over a five-year period, while the other its worth €1bn over a one-year period.
The retailer said the five banks that are providing the credits are Societe Generale, Deutsche Bank, Credit Agricole, HSBC-CCF and BBVA.
