Swiss grocery retailer Migros has announced a round of price cuts on over 300 products.
The latest cuts follow Migros’s decision last month to lower prices on over 600 brands. Migros and other Swiss retailers have seen the strength of the Swiss franc against the euro lead to consumers shopping across the border in Germany and France.
Migros said on Saturday (10 September) that it had lowered the price on the 300-plus products by an average of 8.4%.
The company said the discounts would drive up sales and the savings from the bulk purchases it makes is then passed on to customers.
Oskar Sager, head of marketing at Migros, said: “Once again, the price cuts are permanent and will not be offset by price increases in other areas.”
