Kevin Burke, Leprino’s senior vice president for global business development, said: “The Asia-Pacific market has been a key strategic focus for us, full of challenge and opportunity. We’re deeply committed to helping our customers in the region win in the marketplace, and we’re proud to be opening this business centre in Singapore. Our investment in Asia will continue and increase over time, as we are committed for the long term.”

The company claims to be North America’s largest producer of mozzarella cheese and supplies the foodservice sector. However, Leprino’s customers also include confectioners, whey protein manufacturers and infant formula producers.

Leprino said its international sales have more than doubled in the last two years, with Asia-Pacific playing a “significant role” in the company’s expansion outside the US.

A spokesperson for Leprino said the company would not disclose specific data on its sales as it is privately-owned.
