Carrefour has named former Philips finance chief Pierre-Jean Sivignon as its new CFO.

The French retail giant said Sivignon, who spent six years at electronics group Philips, will join the company on 1 September.

Sivignon, 54, will replace Pierre Bouchut, who will become Carrefour’s executive director for growth markets.

Bouchut, who joined Carrefour as CFO in 2009, succeeds Thierry Garnier, who will “take on new roles, which will be announced in the coming weeks”, the company said yesterday (4 August).

Garnier joined French retailer Promodès in 1997, two years before its merger Carrefour. He has held a series of roles at Carrefour and was appointed executive director for growth markets only last year.
