Tesco has launched a food website in China in a bid to build the company’s reputation as “a trusted international food retailer”.
The website, called “the food site”, will include recipe ideas, nutritional information and food education and will be delivered exclusively in Mandarin.

“We are on a journey to build our brand as one of the most highly-valued in the region – an international retailer that understands Chinese customers better than anyone,” Tesco China’s head of brand communication Karen Low commented.
According to Cedar International – an advertising, publishing and distribution company that is working on the project with Tesco – the site is the first of its kind to be offered by a retailer in China.
