Dole Food Co. has added to its Fruit Crisp snack portfolio in the US with the launch of a peach flavour.

The Fruit Crisp line was first launched last year and the peach variant joins Apple Cinnamon and Apple Pear in the range.

The snack can be eaten at room temperature or heated in the microwave. They are sold in two servings and feature a cup with a peel-off lid.

A Dole spokesperson said the Fruit Crisps contain a “half serving” of fruit, whole grain oats and 40% of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C.

“They work as the perfect healthy alternative to sugary snacks but also satisfy the late night sweet tooth, making a perfect dessert,” the spokesperson said.

She cited a Technomic study that claims over 50% of US consumers snack at least once a day, 21% snack more frequently and 35% choose healthier options than they did two years ago.
