Canadian gourmet coffee roaster Van Houtte has announced that Christian Pouliot has resigned his position as president of the Office Coffee Services division, effective 28 June 2002.
Gerard Geoffrion, executive VP, will replace him on an interim basis and oversee the operations and development of the division.
Pouliot will continue to sit on Van Houtte’s board of directors and intends to keep his equity stake in the Company at approximately the same level. “I made my decision in the fall,” he explained: “However, I chose to wait until a successor was found for the president, Paul-Andre Guillotte, who announced his departure in November.
“It has now been announced that effective 6 June, Marc G. Fortier will be the new CEO. Thus, the executive changes at Van Houtte will proceed in an orderly manner.”
Christian Pouliot, 51, joined Van Houtte in 1992 when it acquired Selena Coffee, a company founded in 1976 by Pouliot and Michel Ouellet. After joining Van Houtte, Pouliot expanded his area of activity in Canada and the US.
