The company reported a net loss of C$1.547m (US$1.104m) for its third quarter ended 30 June, against a profit of $56,000 in the same period last year. Humpty Dumpty attributed the slump to increased manufacturing costs, notably frying oil, as well as to the strengthening Canadian dollar against the US dollar.

Humpty Dumpty forecast an increase in branded sales in the final quarter, although the impact of the stronger Canadian dollar was likely to continue to dent net sales.
