UK snack maker United Biscuits UK has launched an on-pack promotion in conjunction with the British Curry Club to stimulate sales of its McCoy’s crisp brand.

With every McCoy’s purchase, consumers will be offered two curry dishes for the price of one, the company said.

UB is also launching two limited edition curry packs to support the promotion: McCoy’s Mighty Madras and Rogan Oh-My-Josh.

Commenting on the move, bagged snacks marketing director Helen Warren-Piper said that United Biscuits hopes to build on the success of its previous curry promotion.

“McCoy’s… has grown 8% in the last year, which is in no small part down to the success of the curry promotion we introduced in September last year. The promotion drove GBP1m (US$1.6m) in incremental sales,” she said.

The on-pack promotion, which targets the brands core male audience, will run from May to November. It will feature on both multipacks and handypacks.
