Swiss retailer Migros Group has started selling its private-label products on Amazon’s German website to expand its reach north of the border.

The product offering includes around 150 items from coffee and pasta to spices and chocolate, with the addition of seasonal offerings bringing the total to around 300 products, a spokesperson told just-food today (3 September).

The deal with Amazon.de will run through to the end of the year. After that time, Migros said it will decide whether it wants to make the trial permanent.

Migros operates an online store for its products, migros-shop.de, but the spokesperson said it has found “an ideal partner in Germany, which has a very large market potential and a good customer image”. Its own online store only ships within Germany.

Migros’ other food and drink online stores include Denner-wineshop.ch and leshop.ch.
