US cereal group Kellogg has appointed former PepsiCo executive Steven Sterling as senior vice president, global supply chain.

Sterling will report to Kellogg president and CEO John Bryant and he will also join the company’s executive leadership team.

The appointment, which is effective today (18 April), will see Sterling join Kellogg from PepsiCo where he most recently served as Frito-Lay group VP, operations. Previously he was operations VP for PepsiCo’s Latin America division as well as holding positions at consumer goods giant Proctor & Gamble.

“Steve brings more than two decades of strong manufacturing experience with major consumer packaged goods companies to this critical role for Kellogg,” said Bryant. “His extensive knowledge in manufacturing is complemented by his strong capabilities in the areas of logistics and procurement.”
