Carrefour has appointed Noel Prioux as executive director for its operations in Europe, replacing Vincente Trius.

The company said today (13 April) that he will be responsible for the retailer’s operations in Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece, Cyprus and Romania.

Prioux joined the company in 1984 and the retailer said he has spent his entire career with Carrefour, most recently as executive director of its business in Spain.

Prioux also previously served as executive director of Turkey, director of hypermarkets for France, executive director for Colombia and executive director of south Asia.

He will be replaced by Pascal Clouzard, who was previously in charge of the retailer’s Spanish hypermarkets.

Carrefour said that, among his other tasks, Prioux will be responsible for rolling out the Carrefour Planet concept in its “G5” countries outside of France – Italy, Spain, Belgium and Greece.
