Nestle has said the current chairman and CEO for its UK and Irish businesses, Paul Grimwood, will move to take up the same role at its US unit.
Grimwood will move to the US in October this year, the Switzerland-based food giant said today (3 August).
He will be based at Nestle’s US offices in Glendale in California. He will replace Brad Alford, who is retiring after 32 years with the company.
Grimwood’s departure from the UK will coincide with Nestle’s planned move to new head offices in Gatwick, south of London. At the new offices, Grimwood will be replaced by Fiona Kendrick, who heads Nestle’s global coffee business unit based in Switzerland.
Kendrick developed her early career with Nestle in the UK, and previously headed Nestle’s UK food and beverage division, including the Nescafe business, for six years, the firm said.
Grimwood has been in the UK and Ireland role since January 2009. “During this period, despite the difficult economic environment, Nestle’s business in the UK & Ireland has delivered consistent growth in sales and profitability and has grown overall market share,” the group added.
