Danish supermarket group Coop has confirmed plans to streamline its operations with the closure of its Fakta head office.
The Fakta supermarket chain is headquartered in Vejle and employs 98 people. A spokesperson for the company told just-food that, as of 1 September, Fakta head office functions will be merged into the group’s corporate head office in Albertslund, Copenhagen.

“The purpose is to take advantage of economies of scale,” the spokesperson indicated. However, the company declined to comment further on what cost-savings it hopes to generate or whether any job losses will result.
