Metro Group has announced a series of executive appointments in its cash and carry business.

The German retailer told just-food today (1 February) that it has appointed Kubilay Oezerkan as managing director of its Turkish Metro Cash and Carry operations. He is currently managing director of Metro’s Real hypermarkets business in Turkey and joined the company in 1997. The appointment is effective from April.

Metro also recently appointed Ulrich Fluck as finance director of Makro Cash & Carry in the Czech Republic and Metro Cash & Carry in Slovakia. He joined the company in 2010 as finance director from Häussler-Gruppe.

Josef Fidler has also become the human resources director of Makro Cash & Carry in the Czech Republic and Metro Cash & Carry in Slovakia. He joined from Drill, a HR consulting company that he launched in 2005.
