French pork processor Gad has seen workers blockade production plants as they demand improved terms of redundancy ahead of hundreds of job cuts at the loss-making company.
Last week, a French court accepted a rescue plan for the firm involving around 900 job cuts.

Staff yesterday blocked Gad’s three production sites. Employees from the firm’s Lampaul-Guimiliau abattoir, which is set to close, clashed with counterparts working at a second abattoir, in Josselin, when trying to prevent them from going to work.
Today, around 50 workers from the abattoir in Lampaul-Guimiliau resumed action to block the Josselin site. Around 200 staff from the Josselin plant pushed back protesters who had blocked its access, clearing a path for them to leave work and allow the next shift of workers to clock on.
Riot police stepped in when skirmishes between the workers began, which led to two people receiving minor injuries.
A company spokesperson said although action continued outside the abattoir in Josselin, management and unions had begun talks to end the protests and allow the rescue plan to be deployed.
