Finnish food group Raisio has confirmed its Glisten confectionery site in the UK town of Skegness will close.
The company revealed in August it was consulting with staff on the plans to move production to plants in the UK and overseas.

Yesterday, Raisio said the factory would close at the end of March. The “majority” of production will move to a site further south in Leicester and to a factory in the Czech Republic. All 87 employees at the Skegness plant have been offered roles elsewhere in the group, it said.
“We had to measure the cost and feasibility of increasing our manufacturing capacity in Skegness, against the fact that we have spare capacity at our other production facilities,” MD Mark Adcock said. “This transfer will enable us to continue to meet the demands of the major retail customers who are fundamental to our business and continued growth.”
Glisten produces branded and own-label confectionery, including sweets, chocolate and popcorn.
