Fonterra, the New Zealand dairy giant, has named ex-Nestle executive Lukas Paravicini as CFO – and appointed former Campbell Soup Co. executive Jacqueline Chow to a new brands role.

Paravicini joins Fonterra after 22 years with Nestle, where he most recently worked for the company’s Nestle Professional unit in Europe. He also spent ten years in Latin America. Jonathan Mason, Fonterra’s current CFO, retires from the role in September.

Fonterra has created a role of managing director for global brands and nutrition. Chow, most recently general manager of Campbell’s Arnott’s snacks unit in Australia and New Zealand, will take a position that “leads a new function driving Fonterra’s overall marketing, innovation and research activities”. Chow’s career also includes a stint at Kellogg.

Chow will become part of Fonterra’s management team that drives the company’s strategy and includes the MDs of the group’s regional businesses.

Sarah Kennedy, previously Fonterra Nutrition MD, has seen her role been incorporated into Chow’s new job. Fonterra said Kennedy’s “next move will be the subject of a separate announcement” and declined to comment further.

Ian Palliser, who was previously MD for group optimisation and supply chain, is taking up a role leading one of Fonterra’s “key strategic initiatives”. Fonterra would not disclose the initiative.
