A venture between Ezaki Glico and Haitai, in which the Japanese firm owns 60%, will sell three Pocky SKUs from next month.

Ezaki Glico said the launch of Pocky in South Korea was part of its plans to create a “global brand”.

Pocky is produced in three countries – Japan, Thailand and China. It is also manufactured in France under the Mikado brand name.

Ezaki Glico said it is looking to “aggressively” expand Pocky’s presence in south-east Asia. The brand went on sale in Thailand in 1972, is available in Indonesia and was launched in Vietnam last year.
