Symbol retailer Spar UK has appointed Aldi veteran Vicki Reay to the newly-created role of commercial director.
Reay, who spent ten years with German hard discount retailer Aldi, will lead Spar’s trading and commercial activities in the UK from May.

The company said Reay’s priorities will be Spar’s own-brand development, especially the fresh food ranges.
Spar UK managing director Debbie Robinson said: “We are delighted to announce that Vicki is joining Spar UK. Vicki has a wealth of experience globally and nationally, operating at a senior level in possibly the most competitive sector within the grocery industry.”
She added: “The appointment of Vicki as our new commercial director signals the start of a new era, with a vision for the future that positions Spar at the forefront of UK convenience retailing.”
