UK upmarket retailer Waitrose has signed a deal that will see it sell its groceries in the Philippines, Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands for the first time.

The agreements mean 250 products are now on sale in 13 Rustan’s branches in the Philippines, and a further 250 will be on sale in two branches of Solomons Fresh Market in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, later this month.

Oround 140 of Waitrose’s products will also launch on the shelves of Graceway Gourmet, in the Caribbean island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands next month.

Products will span groceries from the essential Waitrose range to products from the retailer’s Love Life range and Seriously line.

The deal, the latest addition to Waitrose’s export business, will take the number of countries outside of the UK it has a presence in to 45. During the year ending January 2013, international sales jumped 20% year-on-year.
