General Mills has decided to launch Green Giant, a brand renowned for frozen and canned products, into snacks in the US.

The company today (25 May) launched two products – potato chips and tortilla chips – to be sold under the Green Giant brand.

It has introduced Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in a “zesty cheddar flavour” and sea salt Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips. The lines have a suggested retail price of US$2.99.

“The Green Giant brand has been a fixture in the grocery store for nearly 100 years but this is the first time consumers will find us in the snacks aisle. We’re excited to bring Green Giant flavours and goodness to snacking,” Michelle Barbeau, marketing manager for Green Giant snacks at General Mills, said.
