The move comes as part of Iceland’s strategy to open new outlets, which are primarily small- to mid-sized supermarkets based in town centre locations.

“As of today, Iceland has 786 stores compared with 757 at the last year-end in March 2012, and is on track to open a total of 36 stores (33 net of closures) by the end of the current financial year, with plans to exceed this total in the financial year 2013/14,” the spokesperson revealed.
