French food group Bonduelle has extended its vegetable line to include a “vacuum” canned range designed to better preserve the quality and freshness of the product.
The Sous-Vide vegetables, available in seven variants, are canned in less juice and steamed to retain their natural colour, odour and texture. The range will be available across stores in France from April.

Variants include shredded carrots, diced beets, grated celery and whole mushrooms.
Bonduelle says the vegetables are packed using a vacuum process that includes a limited amount of juice, removal of air from the container and a heat treatment that accelerates cooking time and offers a “better quality vegetable”.
