Portuguese supermarket chain Jeronimo Martins has sold the Brazilian store chain Apoio to local wholesaler Santa Tereza.

Based in Belo Horizonte, the chain was owned by JM&M, a joint venture between the wholesaler Martins and the Jeronimo Martins, owner of supermarket chain Se. JM&M was created to support the expansion of Se’ label further than Sao Paulo state and to launch Apoio (self-service wholesaler) label.
The joint venture also has a distribution centre and businesses are concentrated in Minas Gerais state, where Martins is headquartered. There are three Apoio stores two in Sao Paulo and one in Belo Horizonte, reported Gazeta Mercantil.
Santa Tereza controls the supermarket chain Super Nosso, which operates seven establishments in Belo Horizonte.
