Irish food group Mr Crumb is expanding its portfolio and moving into the gluten-free sector with the launch of a fresh, pre-made stuffing and breadcrumb mix.

The company revealed it has secured a listing at department store Harrods and is in talks with other retailers.

The sage and onion gluten free stuffing joins Mr Crumb’s existing fresh stuffing range as well as the group’s line of frozen snacks such as filled paninis and wraps. It is hand produced in small batches using gluten free breadcrumbs from a local bakery, real Irish butter and sautéed onions.

The stuffing is available in 200g packs which can be reheated in a microwave in two minutes, or in an oven in 12 minutes. It has an RSP of GBP3.50 (US$5.31).

The UK gluten-free sector is valued at GBP210m and, according to Mintel, 13% of the country’s population say they avoid eating gluten.
