Croatian food firm Franck is reported to be the latest bidder for Slovenian food company Zito.
According to Reuters, Franck confirmed it has made a bid, but provided no further details. No-one at Franck was available for comment when approached by just-food today (6 November).
Slovenian state investment fund, SDH, confirmed it has received “indicative offers from both strategic and financial investors” for a 51.55% share of the business. It did not reveal details of the bidders.
“The sales process will progress in accordance with the envisaged time schedule and will proceed to the second phase. Only those investors which submitted the most economically advantageous offers and demonstrated the financial and legal capacity and certainty to acquire the shares will be allowed to take part in the second phase of the sales process,” it said in a statement.
Local press reports have named Croatian food groups Podravka and Granolio, plus Czech firm Agrofert Group as also having bid for Zito.
In a stock market announcement, Podravka said: “At this moment there [is] no price sensitive information that the public should be informed about.”
